Health and Wellbeing at Beehive
At Beehive we believe in starting healthy habits to set the foundation for a healthy future. We actively encourage the children to be active, to eat well and to look after their teeth.
Healthy Eating
At Beehive we actively promote healthy eating across all of our provision. Where food and snacks are provided during our wraparound care, we ensure that we provide varied and balanced options, making sure that children have something nutritional to eat.
For families who attend pre-school and bring in their own snacks and packed lunches, and for those who bring in their own packed lunches for Holiday Club , we provide the following leaflets as guidance:
We are a nut free setting and we ensure that we are aware of any allergies and dietary needs of the children.

Yoga at Beehive
Two of our staff have undergone Yoga and Mindfulness training for pre-school aged children. Every morning the children at Kinchen Hall pre-school start their morning session with either some yoga or keep fit, and at Jubilee they do this on the mornings that Maria works. The children really enjoy their yoga sessions and often amaze us with their abilities. You can read more about how yoga fits into the Early Years framework here.
Healthy Smiles
In the Hive room at Kinchen Hall we are part of the Healthy Smiles programme. This is an oral health initiative by Community Dental Services (CDS) that provides education and supervised toothbrushing for young children in pre-schools and schools to improve oral health care.
